Hey, I have a question regarding the Kraken 7.1 Chroma. If I set the delay to a value lower than 80, it seems to light up slightly dimmer while reducing flickering. Is it expected to be fixed when the next SDK release arrives? Or is there a particular value I should set it up at so it doesn't flicker as much and doesn't lose bright? Or maybe I am just imagining the darker lights because it is flickering too fast to take notice.

I got it installed, but it only supports YouTube for me atm.. I use spotify and daum potplayer and it doesn't do anything. It just waves a rainbow through slowly. And is it not possible to keep the settings and close the visualizer?
Check Windows' Audio Mixer, it could be that the other audio sources have a lower volume. To get the window out of the way, in the taskbar you will see a small icon for the Visualizer, click on it and the window will be hidden until you click it again.

I think if you just raise the volume a little bit it should light up like normal, at least that is what I remember reading somewhere. Although, you don't want to raise the volume too much. I am super excited to purchase the DeathStalker Chroma. Should I get the Chroma or the Death Stalker Ultimate? That is another thing that I was trying to decide on. I got the Death Stalker keyboard for one of my friend like a year ago when the Chroma wasn't out yet but he said he really likes the keyboard so that is why I want to get it for my self now but should I get Chroma or Ultimate? Any opinions on which is better?

Hmm When I went to playback devices, spotify or daum did not make noise but there is sound coming from speakers. Other devices that support sound do not show a changing bar Get the chroma. You seem to like the rgb customization more. Plus it's cheaper.

I do like the Chroma one better because of the lights and I do want to get it. I will probably end up getting it, its just a bit upsetting to see that it doesn't have all of the lighting effects as the BlackWidow.

The Kraken Chroma doesn't support custom effects right now. Custom effects means that the new color applies immediately, which is what I use for all the other devices. If I set a static effect and then set another static effect, the Kraken will slowly fade from the first color to the second, which is what you see if you change the color in Synapse. If I send it continuous static effects, it never completes the fade and gets stuck in some bland whitish in-between color or just doesn't pulse very much if set to a single color mode. To fix this, I send a None effect type which turns off the LED. If you send a None and then a Static effect, the color applies immediately (fading only happens from one static color to another, none to static is instant). That's where the flickering comes from, because I'm sending none, static, none, static, ... and so on. If you reduce the delay (which defaults to 50, as opposed to decay which defaults to 80) then you increase the number of refresh cycles. It will flicker faster and faster and eventually you get to a point where it's flickering fast enough it isn't quite as noticeable, but since it is off more often it will probably look dimmer too. The only fix will come in a future SDK. Razer has said that the firmware on the Kraken does not support custom effects, so the SDK can't simply add support for it. They are working on making a firmware update for the Kraken's internal controller to support custom effects, and then they can add it to the SDK. No idea of ETA for the fix, could be next SDK update or it could be many updates from now.

Get the Chroma. Some RGB lighting is better than no RGB lighting! I've never used the switchblade UI thing though, could be cool, but it seems like it might not be super useful without apps designed for the programs you want to use it with. Rainbow effects look fine on the DeathStalker Chroma it's just you can't do bar graph type effects or highlight individual keys for games. I'm personally not a fan of rubber dome keyboards, especially not low profile ones, but for a rubber dome low profile keyboard it's one of the better ones I've used. I like my clicky loud mechanical keyboards.

As CalcProgrammer1 provided in page 27, he gave this link for the download of the Visualizer v.1.0.9: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Fq0HEJolPtdGVKbGoxNExhaXM/view?usp=sharing

Hey, Have you ever thought of making it so it you can choose the visualization to go horizontally instead of vertically over the keyboard for a more uniform pattern with more depth?

@CalcProgrammer1 Might be fun to know; I set my PC to sleep from time to time and my keyboard was just set to the standard breathing option from Synapse. I've set up VLC to watch some series while working on other stuff and I noticed my keyboard was in the visualizer mode. Though I have NOT got the app open. I checked the synapse option where it says Chroma apps, as I know that's ON for me. I turned it OFF, the visualizer stopped. I turned it ON, the visualizer started again. Just thought this might be interesting to you because it seems the settings of the visualizer are kept the way I lastly used it. I'm currently on the last version that you posted.

Hello, I was hoping to buy Razer Mamba in couple of days but I feels sad when I see it is not supported. Will it ever be supported even when connected through a wire. I'm okay with that. If that doesn't work, I guess I might have to consider the tournament edition

Is there any way to implement this to work with the horizontal rainbow wave? Or will this only work with static lighting on each LED?

Hey guys, I have a problem when using the program. Some LEDs and Razer logo light up white when running audio visualizer. I have tried making some config changes but still remains. It would be great if someone has already encountered this and have a solution :3

Do you see this:
Hi Calc! What was once working no longer works? So I had things working fine under Windows 7 Pro SP1 until I made a command line short cut.. I mean that even worked until it froze suddenly never to work with my hardware again. The regular Synapse effects work with any install or order I've tried. Anyway I decided no big I just rebuild my system.. the only difference is that I went Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. The instructions I'm now following: "CalcProgrammer1!: Chroma SDK is built into the newest Synapse, you do not need to manually install it anymore. If you have manually installed it I'd recommend uninstalling the SDK as well as Synapse entirely and then downloading the newest Synapse and installing fresh. You then have to turn on Chroma Apps in the new tab in Synapse." The aforementioned may be my problem. After the fresh install I notice my CHROMA APPS ON/OFF switch is missing? I can't get this back for nothing and noticed the you wrote it should be enabled. I even installed in the order others suggested. I'm running version 1.09.. amplitude at 150 the sound is great from my speakers and I see plenty of frequency movement in the command window. Its as if the hardware is ignoring any and all audio in? I'm running a Blackwidow, Firefly and Mamba TE. I've installed the entire setup on a secondary pc running Windows 7 Pro SP1 with the same failure? This is the command line that seemed to break things on my old install? {"...1.09.exe" amplitude=150 bkgd_mode=5 frgd_mode=6 bkgd_mode=5 single_color_mode=7 startminimized Edit.. I've now gone back to Windows 7 Pro.. same deal. No OFF / ON as shown above under Chroma APPS. I loved it when it was working and would really like it working again as I have a big lan coming up and wanted to show people a light show. Thanks for the work CalcProgrammer1! ;) Razer products owned: BlackWidow Chroma Mamba TE Firefly

THE SAME happened to me once. Uninstall all of Synapse, make sure there is nothing left using some software like Iobit Uninstaller. Restart the PC, install Synapse with your Razer devices disconnected. Once Synapse is installed completely, install your Razer devices and Synapse will download their respective drivers and should download the Chroma SDK correctly now. Now, you should be able to see the switch once again.
