Does this work on the Razer Blade stealth's keyboard?
I go a Razer blackwidow Chroma X TE. Why the visualizer dosent work for it?
So this won't work with the Razer ManO'War or the Ornata chroma, that's a bit disappointing.

Anyone else having a problem with audio visualizer? I'm on version 1.20 and nothing works when i turn it on. I do have the app enabled, Tried restarting PC and reinstalled. Still nothing.
Nice app! Any idea how to get the mousepad to work on the New Razer Blade Pro?
Wow! How am I just now seeing this? Now I wish I bought the Mamba instead of the Deathadder Elite just for more lighting. Great work looks amazing!
I am guessing the GUID is needed for "Razer Blade Pro2016" or at least some interpolation of the additional devices (trackpad and media keys). Looking in RzChromaSDKDefines.h, all I see for systems is "Razer Blade Stealth" and "Razer Blade" (Looks like Lenovo uses Chroma too) Maybe this is in C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Razer Chroma SDK\\ (install.log or Devices.xml). The media keys above the trackpad is a 1x5 LED profile and the trackpad is 6x3x6x3 LED profile. I am guessing that once these are realized, functionality can be added to your RazerChroma::SetLEDs method. Let me know if I can eek out any information from my system that would help.
Looks like you can change that hardcoded 15 to ChromaSDK::Mousepad::MAX_LEDS-1 and add a line CreateMousepadEffect(ChromaSDK::Mousepad::CHROMA_CUSTOM, &FireflyEffect, NULL); for your //Firefly Chroma section in RazerChroma.cpp and that should probably do it. I interpolated this from ChromaSDKImpl.cpp from their sample app (damage taken method seems to light all LEDs)
Looks like also an 'order' thing. Had to put firefly first (before blade/stealth). Also commented out other stuff and worked better. I am guessing maybe there may be some overlap?

Let your Razer Chroma-enabled devices rock to your beats with the beta Audio Visualizer, developed on the latest Razer Chroma SDK 4.8.

Fire off the colors not just on your Razer BlackWidow Chroma, but also on the newly supported Razer Mamba TE & Razer Firefly!

*EDIT* 19th January 2016
Hey everyone! I can't believe it has already almost been 4 months since this post came up and Chroma has come a long way since then! The Audio Visualizer is no longer an early build and the setup process is very simple, I've updated the steps below accordingly.

We’ll let the video du-du-du-du-do the showing:

We really appreciate all the work our community developers have put in to push the potential of the Razer Chroma technology and our friend @CalcProgrammer1 has really done a solid job on the Audio Visualizer. This new Audio Visualizer gives you the freedom to customize the color scheme and tweak its amplitude so you are only limited by your own creativity. Did we mention it’ll not just react to your music, but also to game audio?

Here’s how to get the fun started:

  • Ensure that you have connected you Chroma device and updated Synapse to the latest version
  • Once updated, make sure that under your Chroma device > Chroma Apps tab, you have "Chroma Apps" turned on
  • Head over to the Chroma Workshop and download the Audio Visualizer
  • Install the vc_redist.x86.exe file that comes together in the zip
  • Launch the Audio Visualizer and get rockin'

Have a go at it and show us what you are doing with your Chroma hardware.

To those facing the "mfc140.dll is missing" issue
Download the Visual Studio Redistributable version "vc_redist.x86.exe"

As this is a very early build, it clashes with Advanced Configurator occasionally.

Change your effects to the default ones e.g. Wave, Spectrum Cycling. You can then launch the application and your keyboard/mousemat/mice will show a blank slate until a sound is played.

What products does it work with? *EDIT*
It works with...

  • BlackWidow Chroma / TE
  • DeathStalker Chroma
  • Firefly
  • Diamondback
  • Naga Chroma/Naga Epic
  • Mamba TE/Mamba wireless
  • Orochi
  • DeathAdder Chroma
  • Tartarus Chroma
  • Orbweaver Chroma
  • Kraken 7.1 Chroma

The visualizer bars are really low, anyway to fix that?
You can bump the bar's height up by increasing the amplitude or your volume (not too much please).

How do I get the colours like the ones in the video?
Adjust "Foreground Mode" to the colour scheme that you like. In the video, I used "Rainbow Inverse". You can also add a "Background Mode" should you like.

Does it react to any sounds besides music?
It takes your Windows sound input, hence any sound - including your games or movies!

Do I have to turn off Synapse?
Closing Synapse before launching the app will be the safest.

Keyboard goes black but it does not react to any audio
As the program is reliant on some limited functions by Windows, be sure that your volume is cranked up or adjust the "Amplitude" to a higher value (Try in the 500s or 1000s)

I can't get it to work due to misc reasons that we have yet to identify
I apologize for this, this was meant to be a beta build and I shared it earlier as I knew the video will get you guys psyched for the app! We are using your feedbacks to build a better experience.

While it may be tedious right now, we WILL be reducing the steps and processes in due time with Synapse and etc. That is on top of more product support. Hang in there!

this a great app, but it seems that it didn't work with osu! game
Is this gonna be available for the blackwidow X chroma ?
Is the razer blackwidow x that different to the blackwidow or why is it taking so long to make it work on it?
Once the keyboard visualizer is on and the preview is being shown, how do I get it to actually turn on for the keyboard? This is using a 2016 Blade.

Nevermind. If anyone else has my problem above ^ it was simply that I was clicking the 2nd link and downloading the old version. When I downloaded it off the updated Chroma workshop page it works. Awesome!
So, it works great and appears in Synapse and works as it should... but only when I have the actual 'Keyboard Visualizer 1.17' app open. If I close it, the party ends and I no longer have cool keyboard lights. Is this how this is supposed to work?

Yes, it is.

Click on the keyboard visualizer icon in the system tray to hide the application window while leaving the program running.
Razer Blade Stealth v2 here and whenever I have the audio visualizer running, nothing happens. I downloaded the SDK straight from the workshop and the preview version seems to be working. I'm at 1000 amplitude and have no lighting effects on right now. It still doesn't work with effects like wave or ripple on either. Any help?
Is there a way to save my settings?
Patras Sergiu
Is there a way to save my settings?

You can create a shortcut with command line options, or if you use the latest version you can click the Save Settings button. (version 1.20 and up) This creates a file called settings.txt in the folder where the .exe is located.

Version 2.00 is out. I rewrote a lot of the visualizer pattern generation code so that it is more flexible which should allow for better effects in the future. You can now change the animation speed for rainbow, color wheel, and the new spectrum cycling effects, including entering a negative value to make it go in the reverse direction. I added some improvements to single color mode as well.

Hey can you help me? Using Razer Chroma keyboard

1- Synapse fully updated
2- Chroma Apps On
3- SDK Installed
4- vc_redist.x86.exe installed
5- Multiple version of audio visualiser tried (1.1/1.2 & 2.0/2.1)
6- Amplifier has been changed to a variety of values

I have tried launching the visualiser with Razer Synapse on, off, disabled on start-up, closed & uninstalled. I have also changed my layout to be static and default spectrum cycle by removing all my current uses of the lighting. The visualiser shows up and can be used and shows the sound waves, however my keyboard does not turn black or get taken over by application at all, just carries on using the static/spectrum cycle.

Any help would be appreciated! I don't think i have missed anything out, but i have tried everything to get this to work!

Which Chroma keyboard? All of them should be supported, except apparently for Blade Stealth (Kaby Lake) which should work but I've had a lot of reports saying it doesn't, possibly an issue with the SDK. BlackWidow, BlackWidow X, BlackWidow TE, Ornata, DeathStalker, and Blade keyboards should all be supported Sometimes it doesn't work though, and this usually indicates a problem with your Synapse installation. Completely uninstall Synapse, reboot, download the latest version of Synapse, and reinstall. That usually fixes it.

If you can see the keyboard change colors when you set background mode to different colors, the application is working and your Chroma SDK is operational.

If all else fails, open Task Manager (assuming Windows 10) and go to the Services tab. Scroll down to Razer Chroma SDK Service and make sure it is Running. If it isn't, start it by right clicking on it. If you don't have Razer Chroma SDK Service then reinstall Synapse.

First of all, thank you very much for the quick reply! Much appreciated! :D

Razer BlackWidow Chroma Keyboard
Reinstalling Razer Synapse did not work (With Reboot)
Colours do change when you set background mode to different colours
Using Windows 10

I did notice 'Razer Chroma SDK Service' has 'stopped' and when i try to 'start' it i get an error

' The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. '

This message occurs when the visualiser is open or synapse is open or both or neither
Hmm. Something's wrong with the Chroma SDK Service. Reinstalling Synapse should've fixed that. Might have to take that up with Razer's support. Do any other Chroma apps from the workshop work?

Deleted 2 irrelevant comments. It seems after uninstalling both Razer Synapse & my current Chroma SDK Service, then installing ONLY Razer synapse (then rebooting) has fixed the problem!

I do not know if you are the creator of this post, although i'm aware your the creator of the program (I think), so i believe we should use these last few posts as some sort of 'solution list' as i feel it would help quite a few people out! Thanks for helping!

Im currently a 2nd year collage student studying compute programming, once im a bit more experienced, if your still improving this program, i would love to help on your GitHub profile! ^^ Learning visual basic right now.
Wow,looks best on the mouse
