2017 Razer Brick Pro 17"
I have a Razer Blade Pro 2017 17" FHD that I bought right after they came out (Nov 2017). I had the battery replaced for a bulge in late 2018 just before it went out of warranty and about 6 months after the warranty expired it just flat out died, completely bricked.
With or without the power brick I get no power anywhere, no blinking lights, no screen backlight, no key backlights, nothing - just completely 100% unequivically DEAD. (this happened while I was using the laptop - so it's not even like it was in a power-save mode or something and just never came back, I was ACTIVELY using the machine and it just "turned off")
After doing some reading and watching a ton of videos online I'm fairy certain the problem boils down to what is essentially a "blown fuse" on the mainboard. It's been sitting waiting for me to figure out how to repair it, because this was not a cheap laptop and is still, by today's standards a beast of a machine. What are my options with this laptop at this point? I can't find the right mainboard for it (RZ09-01662E52) online (there are lots of 3E52 mainboards, but it isn't clear what the difference is, if they're compatible, and at close to $1000 for just the mainboard I'm not willign to risk just ordering one and hoping it works). I'm sure I could send it back to razer, wait over a month, and find out it's going to cost me $1500 for them to repair it - but in today's economy I simply don't have the money for that expensive of a repair.
So, please tell me Razer Support - is this indeed just a $3000 brick now, or are there any affordable options for repair or acquiring the correct parts.
