Ambient Awareness issues on Blackwidow Elite

I love this keyboard except that my favorite lighting function, Ambient awareness, does not work half the time. It wont reflect anything and just turns the keyboard dark. There's a solution I've seen on other threads/reddit posts that say closing it through task manager and then reloading it fixes the problem. I tried this, but it comes back only a little while later. Kind of disappointing. Is there a permanent fix? Hope this gets addressed in a future update.
