any ideas as to why the chroma on my firefly v2 pro keeps going to default spectrum effect?

I will plug it in and will apply the chroma advanced effect but after some time it will switch back to spectrum cycling and its quite annoying as the only fix I have found is it unplug and replug, it happens across different firefly V2 pros as well, tried on my white and black one with different cables and it persists. have tried a clean install (including driver cleaner) and removing the device via device manager too.
