I'm reaching out for assistance with updating the BIOS on my old Razor Blade Stealth 13" 2016 (RZ09-01962E52), which I recently pulled out of storage for travel use. I've replaced the battery and have everything running smoothly, but I'm encountering difficulties applying the latest BIOS update that addresses Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities.
The installer consistently displays the message: "This firmware tool is for use only with Blade Stealth on a compatible system. The application will now close."
While I'm confident I'm using the correct files for this specific laptop model, nothing seems to work. My research suggests others have experienced similar issues, and it appears to be linked to the serial number disappearing from the BIOS, which seems to be the case on my device as well.
I'd be grateful for any assistance in getting these critical updates installed.
Additional Information:
- The hard drive has been completely formatted, eliminating the restore volume.
- The laptop remains fully registered and displays the correct serial number on my product page.
