Base Station V2 - DAC disconnects mic on mic mute

I just got the Base Station V2. I noticed that the DAC only works when a headset is plugged into the 3.5mm jack. if I am using the DAC, and I mute the inline mic via a hardware switch on the 3.5mm headset it disconnects the DAC input from the PC. The only way I have figure out to get it reconnected is to disconnect and reconnect the 3.5mm cable from the base station. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, has anyone found a solution? I'd really prefer to have the option to use the mute switch on my V-Moda boompro mic.
