Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my Razer Basilisk Ultimate and wanted to check if anyone has seen this before or has a fix.

The mouse works completely fine when connected via cable, but the wireless connection via USB dongle is unusable.

The dongle keeps trying to connect but immediately disconnects again. In Windows Device Manager, it constantly reappears and reloads in a reconnect loop.

I also tested it on my MacBook (no Razer Synapse installed and the device was never previously paired there). The exact same issue occurs, so it does not seem to be software or Synapse related.

What I already tried:

  • Updated mouse firmware
  • Reinstalled Razer Synapse (on Windows)
  • Disabled USB power saving / power management settings
  • Removed hidden/ghost devices in Device Manager
  • Tried different USB ports
  • Full system restarts
  • Complete fresh Windows reinstall

None of this fixed the issue.

Summary:

  • Wired mode works perfectly
  • Wireless mode via dongle does not work at all
  • Dongle constantly reconnects in a loop on multiple devices (Windows + Mac)

I hope someone here might have experienced something similar or knows if this is usually a hardware failure (dongle or mouse).

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I believe this is what happens with an incorrect driver. I saw this last year. Best bet is to disconnect dongle. Go devices in synapse remove it there. Then go to device manager and remove the ghosted device there. Restart. Load Synapse. Reconnect.

There are two drivers for this one for wired one for wireless.

Good luck let us know!

Running the firmware update may reveal something on this too. You are looking to see if everything gets recognized and up to date.
