Basilisk v2 not working after system restarts more than 50% | Razer Insider

I’ve had my razer basilisk v2 less than a week from new (given to me as a birthday gift). I have been having issues with it not working at all when I startup my system (PC Windows10 Asrock X470 Taichi mainboard). I kept a count: worked=3, failed =5. When I get to the desktop and the mouse is dead, I can unplug the mouse and plug it back in then it works. I switched connection to another usb extension which has a deathadder 2013 on it and same thing happens. The deathadder works 100% whether the basilisk fails to work or not and irrespective of which extension it is on. Sometimes the system will startup with the basilisk v2 working, but mostly the mouse doesn’t light up during boot and does not work until unplugged and plugged in again. When it is not working the mouse has no lights, no buttons work, does not move cursor. At the same time the mouse is non-responsive, windows shows the device as connected and working. Mouse shows in synapse 3.5.531.51418 as connected and working. Finally, today I got fed up and plugged it directly to my PC backplate without an extension. It worked the first reboot, but just now it failed to work during a startup. Can you please advise if you are aware of this issue, can it be fixed, is there any point me returning it for a replacement or will this always act like this?

NB: I have used a Logitech G203 and Deathadder 2013 on this system for over a year without ever having this kind of mouse failure issue. These issues have also been posted to a support ticket.
Same here. After shutting the PC down, the RGB lights stayed on, but when I turned the PC on the lights turned off and the mouse wouldn't move or click.

Restarted again, cursor moved this time, but no buttons worked, not even left click.

Unplugged, plugged back in, worked again. ...Until I restarted my PC, then nothing.

What's going on? I've never had an issue like this with any other mouse.

I solved this issue by updating the mouse firmware. Not sure if you can get it yourself now, but I had to go through razer support to get it. They made me try several things changing my windows settings, none of which helped. I got frustrated because I was sure it was the mouse and not my system. I suggested they find out what the problem is and create a firmware update as the mouse was not fit for purpose.

The next reply I had, they provided me a direct link to download a newer firmware (not via a webpage). They had a firmware update all the time, but did not suggest it or make in available anywhere on the support site.

After the firmware update I never had the problem again. I suggested they add this fix to their FAQs, I guess that hasnt occured?
