I have issues with my Basilisk V2 as the title describes.
I have tried compressed air, cleaning, adjusting the resistance, updating firmware, more or less everything, but it still jumps and skips when I scroll.

It’s getting to the point where I am considering buying a new mouse, because this issue is seriously starting to grind my gears.

I have had this issue with literally every razer mouse i’ve owned.. their scroll wheels are hot garbage. I am already experiencing it on my Deathadder V3 pro after 8 months. I can confidently say i will never buy another razer mouse ever.

Well, that kinda settles it for me. No more Razer if every single mouse they have are experiencing the same issues. I mean, how on earth can the produce something that doesn’t last a year? Do we buy stuff from Temu or something?

Ya I dunno. I started an RMA I might sell the brand new one when I get it back..

I just ordered a pulsar xlite v3 we'll see how it is. The problem I think is all these mechanical scroll wheel switches are kind of all the same. Prone to failure just because the design. Logitechs seem to have the same issue after a while.

After a while, my basilisk is doing the same with the wheel (mostly when going up)….No more warranty now…
What can we do ? Destroy the planet a little bit more by buying new one or can we have a replacement wheel Razer ?

So I don't know who is going to see this post, but i managed to repair the scrolling problem by taking out the wheel circuit (the one with 3 wires, you can find vids on the net).
I soaked it in brake fluid cleaner or contact cleaner, (brake is just more powerful) made some movement to make sure it penetrates well inside (by soaking i mean blasting it with the pressurized canister).
Then I put a screwdriver on the axle, big enough not to go through the hexagonal hole, and while pressing hard, I made a back-and-forth movement to rub the circuit inside. Since then, no more problems at all.
Hope it helps !
Don't buy another mice !

i know this is an old post, hopefully this helps anyone facing same issue.

i had this issue with basilisk v2. i tried below method and it worked for me and the wheel issue is totally fixed.

  • Turn the tactile resistance dial located on the bottom to max resistance them turn it back to min resistance.
  • Press firmly on the wheel and spin it rapidly for a few seconds “both directions” to dislodge minor internal debris.
  • blow air on the opening around the wheel to clean any dust or debris.

Oh wow, an old post !
My solution, as well as ArgngRptr’s one will work for a while...but since the copper inside the wheel is wearing off, u’ll need to buy a new encoder and replace it https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/ [removed by moderator] .html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.10.5eb45e5boZM5Xm&gatewayAdapt=glo2fra
The one on the link is indented, but frankly, that’s not a problem.

It’s really easy to repair, the planet will thank you !
