Basilisk X Hyperspeed sensor dead?

Hello,

I’ve been a loyal Razer user for many years and a big fan of the brand. My entire setup is made up of Razer products — mouse, keyboard, headset, mouse mat and even a Razer laptop (although my current main system is not). I’ve always had excellent experiences with your quality and support.

Recently, my Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed suddenly stopped moving the cursor. The scroll wheel and buttons still work perfectly, but the pointer doesn’t move in either 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth mode.

I’ve already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

Replaced the battery and cleaned the optical sensor;

Performed the physical reset (left + right click + scroll wheel);

Tested on multiple computers and USB ports;

Ran the firmware updater, but the mouse is not detected;

The blue light on the DPI button keeps blinking continuously.

Everything points to an internal failure in the sensor or firmware.

I understand that the mouse is over 3 years old and may be out of warranty, but given my long history as a dedicated Razer customer, I would like to ask if there’s any replacement program, paid repair option, or discount on a new product available.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Kind regards,

Ruben G.

Hi,

Mine also did the same today and I did everything the same like you.

Also the warranty is dead and I have been using 3 years. Is this the maximum period for this product?

Also had the hammerhead x hyperspeed earbuds that was dead last month and have been using for 3 years.

Are they can only being use for only 3 years?

Hope there is solution to this.

I had the same issue as you, after 3 years it suddenly stopped to work it did connect via usb wireless dongle, Bluetooth, right and left click worked but sensor did not tracked mouse movement. After weeks trying cleaning, hard reset and sensor cleaning. I solved it with different steps, first dissasembly mouse with care and with no battery, then cleaning plastic, pcb and sensor with isopropilic alcohol, then quit screws pcb and cleaning below pcb and finally and most important resoldering from below pcb in soldered parts of the click buttons, wheel and sensor, finally in the top of the pcb some capacitors resoldering, I just use a soldering iron at almost 400°C with just one or two second to make liquid the soldering but not burning the pcb and being careful to not touch anything else in order to avoid any shortcut. It could be a solution but only a professional with experience could try to see if that solve the problem in your cases.

As an update of my previous comment it did stopped to work again, solution was temporal and not permanent.
