Blade 15 2019 GPU Cooling fan stays on at idle | Razer Insider

I've run into this issue before about a month ago, and there was an option in Nvidia control panel, under the performance tab, to set the cooling fan to automatic or manual. I changed it to automatic (where I assume it was before this issue came up) and all was as it should have been. Now, at idle, the fans don't ever turn off and the option in control panel is missing. I went and updated the driver to the latest 436.48 and that did nothing to get me where I wanted.

I've done some research and lurking around and some suggested that the 436 version of drivers were junk and that downgrading to the 431 versions were the way to go. So, I removed the existing with DDU, and installed 431.60. Still having the same issue. I installed nvidia system tools, to enable the performance tab that was magically missing, agreed to the terms, and it enabled the performance tab, unfortunately the cooling fan section is grayed out and I can't make any adjustments at all.

Thanks ahead of time to any and all who wish to assist me with this. There's nothing more irritating than finding something irritating with a new laptop...
To update. And sleeping on it for a bit. I found that razer Synapse may have been the culprit. I opened synapse, selected the laptop, and selected performance. Within there, it shows that the fans were set to manual. Selecting auto brings that sweet silence back. Synapse was recently updated and apparently it changes this setting.

Maybe I just needed to talk it out and let the world know I didn't look hard enough. Either way I'm glad it's resolved, and I'm glad the forum is available.
