Blade 15 Base - fan rattling noise | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I got my Razer Blade 15 Base (2020) a year ago, and lately, the fan started making rattling noises. Initially, I thought of a buildup of dust, but as it got louder and louder with every use of the laptop, I figured it's caused by or causing component damage. Specifically, the right fan. I also noticed that if I abruptly move my laptop upwards and gently place it back on the table, the rattling noise will stop for a while (this tells me it's related to the position / stability of the fan?).

What can I do in this situation? I will need to use my laptop A LOT for work in the following month so I can't afford not to have it for even one or two days, so I figured I'd post here and contact support as well before actual functional damage is done to the laptop.

Does your laptop overheat when the rattling noise occurs? You might have to keep your laptop's air vents clean and clear from obstructions. Rest your device on solid flat surfaces to maximize the airflow of the vents. You can also use canned air to dislodge any dust buildup on the vents. Should the issue persists, PM me the serial number of your device so I can check if there's a specific way to sort this out.
