Blade 15 Keyboard Lights up, Display won't turn on

Model: Blade 15 Advanced Model (Mid 2021) - RZ09-0409 I tried switching the load to using GPU only from the NVIDIA Optimus performance plan - and now the display will not turn on, though the fans will turn on, and the keyboard lighting will also turn on. I am trying to follow the instructions given for the guide "How to fix a Razer Blade that displays a blank or black screen" - but I can't figure out how to connect the Blade to an external monitor. No matter how long I press F4 for, the monitor will not display anything, remaining black like my laptop display. I also cannot figure out how to enter the BIOS screen - because the display remains black, and there is no Razer logo showing up to indicate when I should press F1 or Del. So - if the laptop display never shows anything, how do I connect it to an external monitor or enter BIOS recovery mode? Help would be appreciated! :D

If anyone finds this, I had exactly the same problem and it seemed like the machine was bricked!

No monitor output at all - the BIOS was just sending the video output into the void, and the machine was booting up to a blank screen.

I managed to fix it though!

I finally figured the machine was in fact booting normally - I could tell because I could hear Windows making it “bingley bongely boop” sound shortly after starting the machine up. But the GPU Mode set to “Dedicated GPU Only” was causing the machine to stop outputting video anywhere useful. So, I pulled out my phone and found this image to remind me of where I needed to go:

Then:

  • Boot the laptop and mash F1 until it seems like it should be in the BIOS. No Windows loading sound should happen - that’s a good sign you’re in the BIOS.
  • Hit the right arrow key twice, so it should be on “Chipset”
  • The GPU Mode is the first thing on the page, so it should be selected already.. hit Enter to open it
  • Now hit the down arrow to select whatever the original setting was - not “GPU Only”
  • Hit enter - this should have set the option and closed the popup
  • Now hit the right arrow key twice - to get you to “Save & Exit”
  • Now hit enter
  • Now press the right arrow key to get you to “Yes”
  • Now hit enter again

If all this went well, the machine should reboot.. and fingers crossed, you should have video output again!
