Hi guys, recently just got the Blade 16 2023 , i find it with discounts so i couldn't resist. My experience so far, great machine, lot of power, in the sillicon lottery i got a good CPÜ with very good thermals, but the screen is absolutly garbage, it is a BOE Panel (Reported and checked in HW Info) manufactured in 2022 , and the laptop in the box reads it was manufacturated in China 12/23 (so it was almost a month ago), out of the box the laptop was fully updated with all the firmware and bios updates in Razer support web page, but i have a lot of dimming text, and horizontal ripples , so far my diagnose is that the algorythm of dimming is trashy, it can be fixed with an update .... yes without a doubt. It is not normal for a Mini LED screen for a computer because you need to process text on the screen, for only multimedia purposes it should be good and not noticesable , but as i mention before for a computer it is far from acceptable and causes disconfort.

Hope someone at Razer is working on it , and soon be fixed, it is a exprensive machine so it must have best class in the world support like other brands does.

I agree, I just got a 2023 Blade 16 (2023 model) with the BOE panel, and there needs to be some firmware  update (and maybe synapse tweaks) that will fix this and also allow changing of the local dimming

The 2023 has discounts because it is not as good as the 2024.  I would strongly suggest you return it and get the 2024.  It is worth the extra cost if you can afford it.  I had the 2023 (a couple of them) and returned them.  I have the 2024 now and it happens to have the same BOE panel but my experience is completely opposite (perhaps the difference is in manufacturing from BOE, perhaps unidentified hardware changes, perhaps software updates, etc.).  It also has the ability to enable a single dimming zone.  I prefer it now over other options.

Well that may explain why the 2023 unit I got on amazon was 52 percent off NEW.

RTX 4070 with the dual Mini Led panel usually 3,299.99 and i got it for 1599.99. Now its back up to 2499.99.

I did have a 2024 version briefly with the OLED screen and it was very nice but way to expensive (2999.99), so when I saw this deal I could not pass it up, but turned out I have the “Meh” panel AND the touchpad is partially defective (pushing down on the touchpad has no response so i have to use tap to click as a work around and other gestures for other things

Any one here still have issues with products and wants to take legal action?

I am still not very happy with my MINI LED panel, but I did get this laptop on Amazon at a crazy sale/discount and I have gotten used to the issues (though annoying)...just wish they would allow the local dimming to be turned off and on

I contacted Razer and begged them to give a statement or acknowledge the issue but now they simply say send the laptop in for repair which is dumb because there is nothing to repair, this company is scamming everyone with an inferior screen and pretending like they aren’t its quite disgusting for the price you pay to have this sort of panel variance. I hope they come out with a firmware update but I think they moved on and scammed all the BOE panel owners off lol this company does not care about its customers and it shows with how awful their support is

I just don’t think my eyes can handle the telrrible blur i see everytime. Just want to know if everyone is interested in taking class action. Willl give an update reply after I get started if you guys are also interested

Yeah, this is insane. I can’t even use the screen on 60Hz. If I move my mouse to the top 5% or bottom 5% of the screen, everything is fine at 60hz, but randomly, having my mouse at the midle 90% of the screen causes it to glitch out. So I have to unplug and replug it in, and set it to 120hz to have a usable screen. On top of the color bleeding and refresh garbage
