Blade Stealth charging from Monitor USB-C port

Hi all, I have a late 2017 Razer Blade Stealth with the i7 8550U. I have seen people around youtube doing this 1 cable setup with their laptop and monitor utilising the usb-c port from laptop to both transmit video and receive power at the same time. My question is, is this compatible with my laptop? I have read around here that it doesnt work with 2017 models but they cannot confirm.
