Broken scroll wheel on Deathadder Elite

So this just happened to me a couple of hours ago. I was doing some music editing on my PC and was scrolling when suddenly I lost all traction on the scroll wheel and it started spinning freely. I looked up the problem on Youtube and this seems to be a common issue. This is disappointing as I've only had the mouse for just over a year (bought May 2020). This is the first time I've ever had any issue with a scroll wheel with all the mice I've used over the years and this is surprising as Razer is considered a more premium brand. I've already sent in an RMA ticket, but in the meantime, is there anything I can do short of buying another mouse?
