central channel is missing in nommo v2 | Razer Insider

I just got my nommo v2 today.

When I want to watch a movie, the central channel, where all the voices are, is being suppressed. When I switch to stereo or THX in synapse, I can hear the voices for a second, but it immediately suppresses them again.

this is very disappointing. I can’t find the setting in synapse to solve this.
Please, support, help me. Otherwise this is a pretty useless, expensive setup that will be returned.

I have exactly the same problem. The only way I found to get THX working is to download their THX app. Problem is it costs $$ and I would much rather the original solution I paid for worked!! I went through to tech support, and they were pretty useless. When I said that THX App fixes it, they just closed my ticket!!

not really, what fixed it for me, after discussion with their support, is to
right click the speaker icon on your taskbar. go to sounds. playback tab, right click your Nommo speakers and goto properties. Go to the Enhancement tabs. Put a checkmark at disable all enhancements.

Did that work for you?

Hey there,

When I right click on the speaker, I get two options: Volume Mixer and Sound Settings. If I got to sound settings right clicking on the speaker doesnt do anything. Are you talking about going to the device manger panel?

thanks!

Or do you mean the audio enhancement tabs and deselecting the THX enhancement?

If so, that just turns it into Stereo??

that’s odd, when I click the speaker icon in the taskbar I get this:

and what you need to disable looks like this:

Those are not the same properties you get from the device manager!

If you don’t see this perhaps you’ll need to reinstall the realtek audio driver (from the device manager/sound, video and game controllers),

or try this to find the same menu:
left click windows icon in the bottom right of the taskbar, and type settings. Go to Sound, scroll down to related settings and find the Sound Control panel, then the tab with playback devices, right click the Nommo V2 speakers and click on properties.

Thanks so much, will try that!

OK, tried it. All that does is turn it back to Stereo. By disabling all effects, it turns off THX. You can see that all audio enhancements are odd in the sound property panel for the device. To get THX going you have to enable “Device Default Effects”. As soon as you do that, the Centre channel disappears in thin air. No dialog in ghost of Tsushima and other channels missing in COD. Strangely, their paid for version doesn’t have the same problem, Is a fault on their side with drivers or configuration.
