CHROMA ENABLED HEADSET STAND usb port issue | Razer Insider

I was gifted the RAZER BASE STATION V2 CHROMA - CHROMA ENABLED HEADSET STAND and KRAKEN KITTY USB HEADSET for Christmas and have been having audio issues: the audio cuts in & out with an audible “popping” noise. For reference I pretty much exclusively chat on discord, play GW2 & listen to music. Sometimes the audio will “pop” back on shortly afterwards and sometimes I will have to unplug & replug my headset to get audio back.

Troubleshooting tried:

  • upgraded RAM
  • uninstalled & reinstalled all the drivers for the headset & stand
  • uninstalled & reinstalled discord
  • made sure GW2 had all updates downloaded prior to starting game up
  • running discord in admin while gaming
  • only run GW2 (no discord or music)
  • switched headset to other usb port on stand
  • used a different headset
  • And lastly… plugging the headset directly into the computer

What I initially thought was a headset issue seems to a stand issue as when the headset issue seems to a stand port issue. I have not had any audio issues with the Kraken Kitty or other headsets when plugged directly into the computer, only when plugged into the headset stand.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix/proceed??

Thanks in advance!! 💜

I have recently been having the same exact problem. I use the kraken ultimate and had it plugged into my headset stand for a year, but recently it started cutting off and having a popping sound like you have. The base station has been working fine until now, and its really annoying. the only fix I found out was just plugging the headset in the front IO.

I’m back a year later to say that it isn’t fixed. Mb gang.
