Chromecast issue with Razer Blade 15 Advanced, RTX 1070

Hi,

Similarly to the locked thread at /screen-cast-problem.48201/#post-484862, I am experiencing a frozen screen on chromecast devices when I cast from my new Razer Blade 15 (RTX 1070, 4k touch display).

The initial connection appears fine, but within 2-5 seconds after connecting the image is frozen on the device being cast to. This occurs with both a Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra, and both chromecast devices work fine with my Dell Latitude 15.

I have tried a variety of resolutions and casting with or without audio in an attempt to diagnose. All attempts have lead to the same screen freeze.

Please advise on potential solutions as chromecast'ing web pages, presentations and documents are an extremely common work situation for me.

RESOLVED

For those others searching about this issue in the future, the problem turned out to be an incompatibility between the packet transmission size of the NIC chipset (Intel AC 9560) inside the Razer Advanced.

This post [ https://support.google.com/chromecast/forum/AAAAt7PFQG4j8-OGOW1tYc/?hl=en&gpf=%23!topic%2Fchromecast%2Fj8-OGOW1tYc ] lead me to this, and I confirmed by going off of wi-fi and plugging my laptop into my router through an ethernet cable. When hardwired, I could chromecast just fine; as soon as I went back to wifi it broke.

So I utilized the resolution in [ https://support.zen.co.uk/kb/Knowledgebase/Changing-the-MTU-size-in-Windows-Vista-7-or-8 ] to change my Wi-Fi interface's MTU to 1438 (instead of the default 1500). This worked despite my OS being Windows 10 the netsh commands still work thankfully.

I do find it a little disappointing the zero responses from Razer support or the community in the month that I had this issue posted.
