Confused about Thunderbolt 3 on Razer Blade Stealth RZ09-0310

I've noticed a lot of issues with how Thunderbolt behaves on various Razers from the 15 to the Stealths. What I'm not sure about is how applicable they are to my particular Razer Blade Stealth. In my case, the right Thunderbolt seems to have no problems detecting and outputting video to the Core X I have connected. The left Thunderbolt port however seems to generally only respond to charging. It detects the Core X, but doesn't not activate/output video. I have checked and watched this behavior via Thunderbolt Control Center, and to my knowledge, I have all updated drivers via Windows Update. Both ports show as Thunderbolt, but only 1 seems to have the correct expected behavior Also, I'm not sure if this is related, but once the Core X is activated and the egpu is up and running (1080ti), something seems to deactivate the internal 1050ti graphics card with a Code 43. (even after disconnecting the Core X) Multiple attempts at uninstalling/wiping Nvidia drivers again and again doesn't seem to change this behavior. I tend to have to uninstall the 1050ti in Device Manager, scan hardware for changes before Windows automatically reinstalls the correct driver and everything is normal again.

Unless you're running the newest Stealth, only the right side USB-C port supports Thunderbolt. The one on the left is just for charging.

Appreciate the reply... What constitutes the 'newest Stealth'? Mine has the i7-1065G which I assumed was this year's 2020?

On your model, only the right side supports Thunderbolt. A newer model was just released with the 1165G7 Tiger Lake CPU and on that one both sides will support Thunderbolt.

huh, strange... documentation I've looked at would lead me to believe that both sides are supposed to support Thunderbolt. Not to mention the fact that the Thunderbolt Control Panel shows 2 ports...

There's a lot of confusion among reviewers about how many Thunderbolt ports are on your model and where they are. Well again, I thank you for replying and contributing. A bit disappointed that may be the case, as I was led to believe otherwise, but overall it's a minor inconvenience. Not something to get myself totally bent out of shape over. More or less, I'm fairly impressed and happy with the laptop regardless.

No problem. And re: your issue with the graphics drivers, a technique that works for some seems to be downloading the latest version of the desktop GPU's drivers (the GPU in your eGPU) and ensuring that you perform a 'Clean Install'.
