Connection Issues with Core

I have a 2017 Razer Blade Stealth and a Razer Core V1. I bought both refurbished about 2 years ago.

Starting yesterday and continuing today, when I plug in the Core, I get a windows notification that it has connected and then I immediately get another windows notification that it has been disconnected (the RGB lighting of the Core turns off and on to match the connection/disconnection notifications).

Has anybody else had this issue? Any tips?

My thought is that the Thunderbolt 3 port on the laptop has worn out and is causing the connection issues, seeing as not only was it refurbished, but it has also been two years of standard use/wear since the refurbishment. I doubt the problem is the Core or the Thunderbolt 3 cable, I rarely unplug the cable from the Core and both have sat on my desk since I bought them.

Both the laptop and Core are out of warranty. Do I just need to eat the cost of having the Thunderbolt 3 port on the laptop replaced? Or am I missing something?
