Cynosa Chroma key 9 outputs 89 | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I encountered a problem when I was logging in on Windows 10 today. My password was incorrect time after time, until I figured out that the 9 key, above the letters, outputs 89 instead of 9. I have now disabled 8 in Synapse and now pressing 9 only outputs 9. Numpad does work normally, but this would be nice to get fixed nevertheless.
What I've tried:

Made sure there are no macros present.

Made new profiles, removing the old ones.

Resetting in Synapse.

Reinstalling in Windows.

Tried in Linux Mint.

Tried it on my laptop.

Made sure it is clean under the keys.
Used the key combination ESC, Caps, Spacebar and then plugging it in. It goes into some weird mode where the lights work, but it doesn't work otherwise until I unplug it and do the same key presses again while plugging it in.
Tried giving the 8 & 9 keys new functions with same numbers. Still the issue persists. Any idea what I could try next? Appreciate any help! PS. Sorry for several replies, but this forum is incredibly broken.
Hey there! Thanks for posting your keyboard's behavior here. I've seen that you've performed all isolating steps that are relevant to its input concern. You've mentioned that you've tested the device on your laptop. Does the issue persist with or without Razer Synapse? Please reset the keyboard using the Razer Synapse 3.0 settings by clicking the gear icon at the top-right and see if it helps.
Hey, the issue persists with and without Synapse, so Synapse should not be the issue. Nor is the OS the issue since it persists across different systems. I've tried the reset function in Synapse several times. This keyboard does not have other combos to reset it than the Esc, Caps, Spacebar one, or does that one even apply to this one?

Thanks for letting me know. Please follow the steps on this link and see if it helps. And yes, the manual keyboard you've mentioned is for the Razer Cynosa and not for the Razer Cynosa Chroma version. By the way, when and where did you buy the keyboard? If it's not from the Razer Website and you are residing outside the US, please contact your reseller to get a faster replacement.
