What do your fans sound like?
I agree, this is beyond ridiculous that they don't allow us to customize this type of stuff. Oh, and to answer your last question I have the Base Model early 2020 (RZ09-0328).

They just sound like normal fans but louder, without the howling. I have the RZ09-03286 and I updated the bios from here:

http://drivers.razersupport.com//index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view&parentcategoryid=992&pcid=350&nav=0,350

When you click to download the update a manual opens in your browser and it says what models are compatible for the update. You are missing the last digit from the model number that you posted so check again

Thank you! I updated the BIOS and... still the same 😞 I'm so sad.

I tried that, too. Seems to have no effect.

I recorded that the fans sound like right now, this is on what is supposed to be "idle" I only have 4 tabs open on Chrome, Discord open, a work messenger open.

https://vocaroo.com/19v0yRLGWBSl - is this what your fans sound like or no?
Mine made a difference, I don't know why yours didn't, maybe do your thing for a while and you might notice a change. Also in my case, I pretty much have my laptop always plugged in so I changed both when it's on battery power and plugged in the cooling to be on Passive.
Yes my fans sound like that, like normal fans should sound but louder and faster.

Oh, wow, so this sound is normal? Geez. I wonder why they made the GPU fans loud like this. My friend has an Alienware M15 r3 and it doesn't sound like this on low RPM
I'm not a pc expert or anything but they sound normal to me. The problem that we all have here is that the fans are too loud on idle and shouldn't operate in that speed while doing small tasks, but during gaming that kind of rpm is probably ok, it's a laptop afterall, and laptops overheat fast.
The same issue and getting used to it....latest BIOS version has blocked undervolt. Tried to roll back to 1.03 but failed. It's not only by razer but also other brands. Intel made it. The best way is setting max. CPU performance to 95% in battery advanced setting and you may enjoy some time silence.

I just got my early 2020 15" base model and "fixed" the issue by first confirming all fan profiles in Synapse were set to auto - they weren't initially. Then I went into the bios and disabled Turbo Boost. That finally worked for me.

Before disabling Turbo Boost in the bios, changing the fan profiles in Synapse did nothing at all to the fan speeds; they just kept whirring away and were quite irritating. I also tried adjusting the Control Panel\\Hardware and Sound\\Power Options\\Edit Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings. Under the Balanced profile (which is my active profile), I changed the Processor power management > Maximum processor state > Plugged in to under 100% (99, 98, 97, etc). These adjustments also had no impact.

With fan noise gone, they did fire up when playing GTA5 which is completely expected. The question is if I should have to live without ALL the features I paid for? I guess I have 29 days to figure that out. I created a ticket with support yesterday.

yea we have to let razer know about this!

it's true. but laptops of alternative brands with similar specs don't have their fans on with ... chrome. laptops overheat, but why is this model of razer especially sensitive?

Does anyone Razer Blade 15 (early 2020) sound like this? https://voca.ro/15LvjMNWhWui
The recording was done with the built in microphone, and it picks up this annoying high pitched noise that only happens when fans are at 1000-3500RPM. All 4 laptops (I've exchanged 3 times, on 4th laptop now) sound exactly the same. I'm surprised Razer has not addressed this seeing the amount of threads for fan issues with this laptop.

yea mine is not as high pitched, but I hear it. it's pretty much the same problem!

I think he means to set the CPU usage to 95% in advanced battery settings. I don't thing that's going to help necessarily because the fans kick in even when CPU usage is low

I don't know, I suspect that it's something to do with Synapse. They just programmed it so the fans kick in even in relatively low temperatures where fans with that high rpm aren't necessary.

I wrote feedback in the Synapse app telling them about this and spoke with Razer Support in order to let them know about the situation, I suggest everyone to do the same in order to raise awareness and fix this
Yes, it definitely does. If you keep the mode balanced, and change some setting on Windows Energy Options (to Ultimate in my case), the book gives full power without overheat

Can you explain exactly what you changed? I want to try it myself.
I send you a PM

Hey everyone! Thanks for posting your laptop's fan noise here. Ensure to identify which fan is causing the issue and check if the vents have dust that could cause air blockage. You can spray compressed air and see if it helps. Also, please check the following links below:

https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/671/kw/fan%20noise
https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/973/kw/fan%20noise

If your laptop's BIOS/EC firmware, Windows OS, Razer Synapse version, and graphic (Intel/NVIDIA) drivers are updated. Should the issue persist, please save your files and revert your laptop's operating system to its factory state by following the steps on this link. Let me know if it helps.

Hello, I followed the first link that you provided, but in synapse the lowest fan speed that I have is 4300 rpm. Am I missing something? (I tried checking for updates but it says it's the newest version)

Thanks for confirming. Please send me a PM together with your laptop's serial number. Let's continue our conversation there.
Hi, just unpacked my own Razer Blade 2020, I'm also disappointed by the fans noise and how they kick in quite easily. On battery it's ok, even while gaming. And performances stay good enough. But how to get the same result when plugged in ?
Already tried a lot of things : disabling turbo boost, underclocking the GPU, Windows power management tweaks...
Thanks for the support.
Hello everyone, is there anyone here that followed all Razer Support instructions and eventually got their issue resolved? If yes did you have to send the laptop to get fixed?

I will try to manually set the fans rpms to 4000 when doing 3D intensive stuff. But 4000 is quite loud already and, I think, louder than when running on battery.
I will also update the drivers of the GPUs and report back if I hear a difference.

For the factory reset of the laptop, I'd like to understand first how it can have an impact. My laptop is less than a week new. To which state will it be recovered ? If it is as when I unpacked it at the beginning of the week, I don't see how it can solve the problem. But I'm of course ready to give it a try if nothing else solves the issue.

I understand that the case is small and the hardware powerful. I'd just love to have a low profile mode when I'm not asking much of the laptop or a semi-low profile when asking for GPU computing without a need for high performance.
Hi everyone,

I currently have the same problem as my fan speed is way too high at idle (my previous razer was dead silent in light workloads)

Fan speed in synapse in auto, I updated the bios, nothing changed

Then I checked my intel drivers and noticed they were not up to date

You can check for yourself here: https://www.intel.fr/content/www/fr/fr/support/detect.html

The next day it seems to have helped!

My laptop is not loud continuously but silent most of the time with some strange (and agressive) fan ramp up and down now and then

I cannot assure that this update was actually what helped but I hope it can help you too!
I've updated the synapse and changed the fan to Auto.
cant say it helped too much, i think the noise of the fan doesnt make any sense.
the pc is almost on complete IDLE.

did it fix the issue to someone? i have the pc for few days, but considiring to return it.

EDIT:
i've updated the BIOS, change the synapse to Auto, and updated intel UHD drivers.
it defenitly made things better, not perfect (the fan sometimes starts randomly but stops pretty quick), but i dont have this really annoying constant noise when the pc is actually doing nothing.
