FN+Break key combo not putting computer to sleep

My computer doesn't go to sleep when I press the sleep shortcut. I know it is not my keyboard, it put another computer to sleep. I've also used another keyboard to see if that worked, and it did not. I have a Blackwidow, I tried using a Huntsman. Neither put my computer to sleep, but both put the other computer to sleep. Is it an issue with Synapse? Thanks.

    I even uninstalled and reinstalled Synapse with Revo (which deleted all the registry keys) yet it still isn't working

    ah, nevermind I fixed it - to anyone reading this in the future, I had set my computer to not fall asleep when I pressed the sleep button (as my cat likes to step on it and put my computer to sleep). as soon as I allowed it to sleep from button press again, it works just fine.
