Hammerhead true wireless neither earbud turns on

I bought some second hand razer hammerhead true wireless headphones from CEX I currently have the exact same ones but with the newly purchased ones I can not get the earbuds to turn on no matter what I do. I've tried using my old case to charge them and also put my old headphones in the new case and the case works and charges fine but the earbuds don't. I recently had the same issue with some I purchased on Amazon that looked new as they came in a fully cellophane wrapped box. Am I doing something wrong or is there a known issue? I know they're an old model.
