How does Razer remapping work? | Razer Insider

So I have a Razer mouse, and regular keyboard; I remapped the mouse and wanted to use AHK to remap keyboard for a game. Mouse remapping works ingame, but it's like I didn't remap keyboard.

I know AHK uses Windows Hooks system to remap, which doesn't seem to work in some cases; then what underlying mechanism Razer use to get its remap to work everywhere? Is this driver-level? Something else?

It stores the configuration into onboard memory (if your keyboard/mouse have any), so you can use it without Synapse running (be aware that some functions like macros are working only if peripheral have more than 4 onboard-profile memory, and some functions still requires synapse to be running - but there will be an info that “synapse is required” or something like that).
