I am new to Razer and Android, I am having a Bluetooth Issue.

I drive a lot and I have always used my Phone for hands free communication, music and more importantly GPS and travel frequently in areas with no cell signal, so I need the phone to function offline in these areas.

I am not stranger to technology, been building and fixing computers since the late 80's, but I was always a Windows guy. Since MS abandoned us I finally switched to android and because the Razer phone has good hardware and very little bloatware I have decided to use it as a testing means for me to test the waters as it were.

PROBLEM:
I am able to connect to Bluetooth on my car stereo for voice and music, but is connects and disconnects every couple of seconds. When I just connect to music it works seemingly okay, but I MUST have handsfree working and GPS.

Is there a setting somewhere that needs adjustment or some kind of manual update required that I am unaware of?
It shouldn't matter but the stereo is Clarion (CZ505) and uses the Bluetooth aptX codec.

Hello there! What specific model of Razer Phone are you using? Have you tried connecting to other Bluetooth devices? What is the current build number of your Razer Phone? You can find this in the About Phone window under the System menu of the Phone's Settings. Let me know.
Razer Phone 1
OPM1.171019.011-RZR-180803.6033
I have the same stereo in 2 vehicles. I will try my 2011 Subaru Outback.
The music will work if I disable the phone part in the connection settings, but the hands free phone does not work even by itself.
I am working with Tech Support and will post the results here as they unfold so that anyone with my issue can benefit from the results.

Their Reply:
Hi Donaven,

Great day! Thank you for the quick response. Base on the Build number you provided it shows that your phone is up to date. Also, we do understand that this is a newly purchase phone. However, in order for us to determine if it is a software related issue or the phone itself, we will need to perform the basic troubleshooting steps we provided. If none of the steps we provided works, then please let us know so that we can have this case escalated is needed. Furthermore; please be kind to tell us when and where did you purchase the phone.

We look forward to hear from you soon.

And my Reply after all the troubleshooting:
I bought it through an independent online retailer through their eBay store for $399.99 USD. Brand new never opened.

I did all your steps, I find that the phone will connect to the following…

Troubleshooting option 1: No effect

Troubleshooting option 2: No Effect

Troubleshooting option 3: No Effect

Troubleshooting option 4: No Effect

Troubleshooting option 5: No Effect

Troubleshooting option 6: No Effect

Troubleshooting option 7: No Effect

Troubleshooting option 8: Razer Phone Connected to different devices in different ways, Results as follows:

  • 2011 Subaru Outback (Car M_Media): Connected as Phone only (NO Music)
  • LG Entertainment System (CM4360): Detects device but WILL NOT Connect
  • 2 Vehicles w/Clarion (CZ505): Connected as Music Only (No Phone)

I have used other Bluetooth phones on all these devices.

From what I can tell, your hardware specs are good, and the hardware is responding and TRYING to connect, but is unable to resolve to a stable connection for phone on some devices and for music on others. It appears to me that you might need to have your coders rewrite the Bluetooth driver, what do you think?

Razer Support thinks I have faulty hardware. They said I can get a replacement from them but I am unaware of my next step. I will PM you the case number.
