Issue with Razer Laptop display with external monitor

Hi I have a recently purchased Razer Blade15" Advanced (2019) laptop. I connect it up to my monitor and the display on the BENQ monitor is fine but the display on the laptop while connected to the monitor has lines running through it and regularly goes to black and back again. It is an issue in that I use the camera in the laptop for Zoom sessions but keeps blacking out on me. Is it a mismatch with the freqy on the monitor?

The laptop display when not connected to the monitor is fine only an issue when connected via HDMI to the monitor

Thanks for any thoughts - Oh I have used the same cable with my spare ASUS laptop and doesnt have any problems.

don't use hdmi out, use a mini-displayport to displayport (if your monitor has one) or mini-displayport to HDMI
