kaira firmware update no pc

I bought the Kaira headset for my xbox one s and it was working pretty well until about a week ago. Now it simply wont give any sound. I previously downloaded the app for xbox for initial setup and when I go to the app it now says I need a pc to update. I only have a chromebook so this is clearly a huge issue to face. It's the most expense I've put for an accessory for gaming. Is there a way around this?
