Kraken Kitty Audio pauses/disconnects and reconnects

RUBYfirstAlabaster661

Like many my razer kraken kitty headset pops and disconnects than reconnects my audio, at first it started when my audio was too loud but now it happens whenever i use it.
Sometimes, it even causes anything plugged into other USBs to disconnect and I have to restart my whole pc but it hasn't done that in awhile.
This is my second pair because i used my warranty to return my first pair that did the same thing so i can’t just get a new pair and with how expensive these headphones are i expect them to work and razers customer service has not been helpful at all and keep ignoring a huge issue.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Synapse, unplugging and replugging my headset, disabling all other audio devices, using a powered hub, and going through and adjusting the brightness power settings mentioned in other posts.
I’ve tried everything listed on the support page as well.

  1. For wireless headsets, ensure that the device is operated within the maximum wireless range and there are no other devices that may cause interference.

  2. Ensure that the device is plugged in directly to a PC and not a USB hub.

  3. Disable Synapse 3. Right-click the Razer Synapse icon found in the system tray then select "Exit Synapse".

  4. If the headset works without Synapse, do a clean reinstall of Synapse, see How to perform a clean re-installation of Razer Synapse 3 & 2.0 on Windows.

  5. Uninstall headset drivers.

    1. Press Windows key + S on the keyboard to open the Search bar.
    2. Type in “Device Manager” and hit enter.
    3. Go to “Audio inputs and outputs”.
    4. Right-click on the Razer headset and select “Uninstall device”.
    5. Restart the computer to completely uninstall the drivers. The drivers are automatically installed on the computer after a restart.
  6. For wireless headsets, re-pair the headset using the appropriate pairing utility. Visit Razer Support and search for headset pairing utility then follow through with the provided step-by-step guide.

  7. Try the headset on a different computer to further isolate the issue. If the headset is working properly on a different device, the issue could be due to a defective computer or device USB port.

The only thing i noticed is the headset works perfectly fine on my old broken laptop but the issues happen on my new and expensive rig? it doesn't make sense. That means i know my headset works and there is some software issue. My rig plays audio perfectly with any other device its just the razer headset yet i know its not broken as it works perfectly fine on mt laptop.
I went through my pc and deleted everything razer and made sure everything was updated and than restarted my pc and still audio pauses.

If there is anyone who can help please send me anything i havent tried yet because i paid $300 for these headphones and for the lighting just for them to not work?

its really upsetting to see what a widespread issue this is and there’s no fix or really even much of an explanation. i too have been through 2 pairs of kraken kitty’s both experience the same issue. i have no issues with any other headset from what i’ve tried, but when using my kraken kitty’s they disconnect/reconnect every so often, also causing issues with my other razer peripherals. ive tried every fix i can find from searching and nothing works, and its certainly not a coincidence its happened to both pairs of this headset i’ve had, and so many other people are experiencing the same thing. sadly i still dont know of a solution, im just here to voice my dissatisfaction as well, i was actually searching for fixes when i came across your post. ive since given up with them, i thought id give them a try tonight and nope, still the same issue. hopefully some form of fix can be found but im not getting my hopes up, but if i find anything ill update here.

I’ve been having the exact same issue! I also tried the headset on my old laptop and it works completely fine but freaks out on my new rig, so strange. Restarting my computer doesn’t seem to help at all, it’s just constantly stopping and starting. I’ve tried everything, but after reading this thread I might have to retire them and try a new brand.

It seems that these headphones have excessive consumption, so the system tries to automatically disconnect it.
I encountered this problem while playing, but when I disable the RGB lights (the reason why I bought these headphones) everything works normally.
Lately I have also been forced to close synapse.
Ironic since I bought all Razer products precisely for their RBG system.
I am afraid that I will change brands on future purchases. Too "weak" and expensive.

I found two workarounds, and thought I'd share the user-friendlier one:

  • Exit Razer Synapse from the system tray

  • Open up Device Manager

  • Go to Universal Serial Bus controller

  • For each USB Composite Device you find:

    • Right click -> Properties -> Details -> Select `Bus reported device description`

      • If it shows `Razer Kraken Kitty Chroma Control`, go to the `Driver` section and click `Disable Device`

      • Wait a few seconds, you should see your headset showing up as an audio device and start working!

      • Open up Razer Synapse if you desire, although not needed

Enjoy! Hopefully this helps a few people whose Razer Kraken Kitty headset isn't working/usable.

I’ve had this problem since day one. It’s super irritating. Thanks for the suggestion of disabling the Razer Kraken Kitty Chroma Control USB device.  You seem to have to reboot the computer when you disable this USB devices, which is really silly. Hopefully this works.

TLDR; (Windows 11) Settings → Personalisation → Dynamic Lighting → Toggle off “Use Dynamic Lighting on my devices”

Hi team,

I was having the issue of constant disconnect/reconnect with extremely short connection times, to the point of you couldn’t use Razer Synapse 3 to actually adjust any lightning settings or device manager to even try most of the suggested fixes.

After attempting to resolve using the following:

Checked for cord damage

Changing USB Ports/computers

Curling the connection cord under the ear muff rim near the mic

In Device Manager

  • various update/disable/uninstall Razer headset specific drivers (Audio in/out, HID, Sound, USB controllers)
  • Universal Serial Bus controllers → Generic USB Hub → Properties → Power Management → Uncheck “Allow computer to turn off this device to save power”

In System Settings

  • Attempted to adjust USB settings under Power & Battery → adjust power plan settings → advanced power settings (seemingly no longer accessible on Windows...)

Finally after a bit more googling to work out how to turn off the RGB outside of Synapse…

Settings → Personalisation → Dynamic Lighting → Toggle off “Use Dynamic Lighting on my devices”

Straight away the backlight started to go through colour cycling, it was no longer disconnecting and I was able to adjust its settings in Razer Synapse 3.0.

Fingers crossed this helps those who haven’t had any luck so far.
