Kraken Kitty Mic Wont Mute

I think I'm posting this in the right thread. I'm having an issue with my headset. When I click the mic mute button on the headet it won't light up red or mute me. I have not dropped or damaged the headset. I don't think it matters but this is a replacement headset sent by razer because before I was having an issue with my old one disconnecting and now this. Has anyone had this problem? I changed the USB port and reinstalled synapse with no luck. The mute mic button is still pushable and makes a soft click noise when I hold it to my ear so the button is not stuck. Thank You
