kraken te broken cord

hello friends. this is my first time posting here as it is the first time i have had a problem with razer products. i have had my kraken te for 2 years now and yesterday morning they just started sounding bad(water sounds and low volume) the wire has been frayed a long time ago but i just noticed that the copper wire has been cut is that the reason?. i searched around only found the wiring for a kraken pro which stated that the copper wire is the ground wire. At these times i can't really afford a new headset and no store or repair center around me wanted any part in fixing it. i need your help guys.
