Kraken TE not showing up in Synapse 3.0

i bought a kraken TE the other day and the mic is way too quiet, all of the posts every where i've seen say to go into the synapse settings and turn up the mic volume, and i would if synapse would find the headset. I have tried all the usual troubleshooting things and cannot get it to find the headset.
