Kraken V3 Pro slider holders have cracked

My Kraken has had the plastic tabs over the band adjustments slowly crack down the middle over weeks of just putting them on and taking them off (with both hands) until one side essentially exploded and now the head set is in two pieces attached by a wire. Now after being told it would be replaced, Support is saying this is normal wear and tear and/or my fault for damaging it. I’ve seen multiple users with the same exact type of damage and I guess we all happened to damage them identically and it can’t possibly be the design to blame. So the expectation for a 200$ headset is that it is going to disassemble itself after a year or two from just being put on your head?

I tightly wrapped mine in electrical tape.

My slide holders cracked very fast and to fix it I bought super small zip ties to put through the screw holes. $200. . . #FuckRazer

I had the same thing happen to me, bought it 2 years ago, normal wear and tear and this week the whole plastic tab on the left side is fully cracked on the front and back side and the right one is showing signs of cracking.

Probably my last Razer product ever, it is a shame the quality went down this badly.

I use to have my keyboard, mouse, headset with Razer.

Same issue hear with the same model. They want me to either pay another $200 to receive the new ones and then send them these ones or wait 3 to 5 business days for them to receive them decide if they are covered or not and then?? No where does it say they guarantee that the product will be returned to you in the same condition if they decide not to warranty it. I have also seen everyone who has had this problem (which is everyone who bought the stupid Kraken v3 pro) and went through the RMA process has had the warranty claims people tell them it was from wear and tear and not warranty the headset. I asked for a link to just the plastic piece and they told me the only two options are to pay the $200 or to basically tough luck kiddo. Razer is a joke. Will NEVER buy another Razer product.

For fork sake i’m experiencing the same issue too…. The left side of the whole plastic tab on the left side cracked. You should do something serious about it Razer… Maybe change the whole material to Titanium or a steel strong built. Irony!😩

I bought mine from Curry’s PC (UK) around 9 months ago and noticed cracks on both sliders about 2 weeks ago, Called Curry’s as they're still under warranty and they said it sounds like a manufacturer issue. I spent around 150 GBP on them too!!!

When it happened to me just now, I decided to just cover it with black tape. But I feel that it is still cracking there more under the tape. I feel a huge resentment towards razer, because I had very good experiences with razer kraken v2 pro oval. Probably as soon as I have the opportunity I will decide to buy blackshark, because I see that kraken v4 also has this plastic, which I already feel disgusted with.

Guys make the switch to Steel Series. My krakens finally just fell tf apart. Picked up the Steel series arctis nova pros. Night and day experience. They are more comfortable. Better battery system. Better mic. Better mixing options. Just insanely Better experience with a headset in the same price range. They are cheaper if you buy the Xbox version, which still works with pc,xbox, anything you need it to.

You were right to assume about the kraken v4’s. I got mine in early February and have taken great care of them as these are the best headphones I had making sure to always cautiously put them on my stand and always holding it with two hands, but today they just snapped out of the blue. The left side snapped at the 2 mark and just out of curiosity I look over to the other side of it and I get to see it’s also cracking on at the same spot as well. For $200 I was hoping that they would have at least used something more sturdy than cheap plastic.

Hey guys,

Can you send me a PM with a photo of the broken part so I can check it. You can upload it to any hosting service like Google Drive and provide a shareable link. Just check the file so that anyone with the link can view it. Please also include the serial number so I can verify it in our system and use it for your case.
