Does this also address the security patch NVIDIA made to their drivers or will that come later?
Good to see you guys posting out quick fixes. Now just release the Toaster and we are all good.
Thanks for your support.
Bladers rejoice.
Hmm... Couldn't the drivers from nVidia be used directly?
I wish I could buy a Blade right now. I'm actually jealous of those who have to download new drivers ... c'est la vie.

Yes you can, but this is for addressing BSOD to users that have the issue. I think on nvidia website there’s no 431.65, only 431.60 and the latest 431.70. Mine is 1070maxq without BSOD issues and still using I think May driver, 430.64, personally I don’t update so often as long it runs great and I don’t have BSOD issues for almost a year, first windows machine especially gaming laptops that is hardly tweaked:smile_: usually facing BSOD but with simple google you can address it easily actually. FYI I did have even once yellow screen of death YSOD:smile_:

Security patch usually comes with the driver.

I ran into a BSOD after installing this driver on a brand new Blade Pro 17 with a fresh install of Windows. I have Power Options set to 'Do Nothing' when closing the lid. When I closed the lid and re-opened it about 10 minutes later, it was not happy... everything was running slow and eventually the BSOD popped up showing a NVidia file as the cause. I tried to grab my phone to take a pic to get the file name that caused the problem, but it rebooted on me. The Windows System Logs just show it as an unexpected restart and list nothing as the cause. Let me know if you need anything to help troubleshoot.

Yea... if only the conversation continued. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting and supplying information then... nothing.
So far, the only thing that has worked well for me is a fresh install (not system restore) and a specific order reinstalling all the drivers.
There appears to be issues with both Nvidia drivers and Synapse 3 on this model and I would be happy to supply whatever is needed to correct the issues.
Low level support does crowd control and the engineers don't get involved. Trying to find or speak with management is next to impossible. This company has so much potential, if only they would step it up a bit.
Personally I would rather see quality laptops over toasters, custom vehicles and energy drinks.

I'm truly sorry that you feel that way but I hope you understand as a fellow IT person that fixing issues like this is not something that can be done in an instant. That said, would you continue to help us out by sending us your logs so we have more information to go on? Please check your inbox.
Everything you requested has been sent, including the files. Thanks!!
What about the new Geforce Drivers (436.02)... Should I upgrade and see how things go? Does it include whatever was changed in the 431.65 to appease unhappy Blades?

You can always try any drivers to see if it can solve the issue, unfortunately that’s what we should do having PC laptops especially gaming laptops where nvidia, intel drivers and windows version should know each other well to prevent errors.
I saw about your post above, that’s also common windows laptops issue even you choose closed lid doing nothing option sometimes if there’s an update on sleep condition it’ll wake up your laptop and it’ll be nightmare if you put it on place where your laptop hardly intake the air for cooling like inside the backpack or sleeve, for avoiding this use hibernate mode on lid close it’s slower than wake up from sleep a bit but faster than restarting, or you can disable automatic windows update and do it manually,
here is some reference how to do that. Personally I use hibernate on Blade that I often bring on the go and put it on sleeve.
Hope that would help.
Awesome
Finally some support, i have been pondering about this for quite a while
Fixed an issue that caused the screen to suddenly turn black.
I have just bought a new Blade 15 advanced model. I am getting it this evening. What is the problem here and should I do it right after I set up everything on my new blade?
