Major lag when 2nd monitor added

Hi there - I own a Razer Blade 15 Studio Edition, which is about 15 months old. 95% of my time on the laptop is spent for general work, MS office and browsing (and not gaming). Up until recently I've been using the laptop with 2 additional monitors with no issue (1 into HDMI and 1 HDMI via USB-C adaptor), however recently the 2nd monitor has become unusable. Whenever attached to the laptop, the whole system freezes until I reduce it to one monitor again. I could really do with being able to use 2 monitors. What solutions do I have? Is this a laptop performance issue - if so, how can I improve? Could it be that the monitors aren't of good enough quality (they are both relatively basic LG models from 3-4 years ago). I'm willing to buy new monitors, but only if this is likely to resolve the issue. Thanks in advance.

Did you already try connecting the other monitor directly to the laptop for further isolation? If you have a different USBC-C adapter, I would suggest you try it as well. Make sure the GPU driver and Windows OS are both up to date. You can also try the steps here. If that didn't help, PM me the serial number of your laptop so I can validate its model specifications and look for other workarounds to help you resolve the issue. I will lock this thread to curb our conversation privately.
