Man O'War Broke

So ive had this headset for less than a year and I love it, but It snapped on me. The left strut holing the ear piece in snapped off completely. Just the left one, mind you, the right side shows no sign of wear whatsoever. I believe this is a stress break caused by the slight pull to actually put the damn thing on my head. So naturally I have questions. Is this a usual occurrence? Why is such an important part of the headset made with such flimsy plastic? What is the half-life on the Man O'War specifically? Do other headsets last longer and break less often? Is there a way I can ship it back to get it fixed? Any info would be helpful
