Mouse clicking issue

So for a little while now my Razer mouse seems to be acting up a bit in a few ways. I've attempted to uninstall and then reinstall the mouse and anything else that I could find online on how to fix this issue.

But in general here's what's been going on:

When I single click the left mouse button (at the moment this doesn't seem to be affecting the right mouse button, but it has before), the mouse often detects a double click. More recently however, it often doesn't detect anything at all.

If I hold down the Left mouse button sometimes it'll either initially detect nothing at all, a single click or a double click. If it detects a single click then everything will be fine until it randomly decides I'm not holding down the button anymore. Eventually it'll detect that I AM holding down the button but it usually stops again very quickly.

I have seen people say that they've had this issue fixed, but I'm not sure what to do as nothing seems to work.

Please indicate which Razer mouse you have. For now, test the device with and without Synapse running in the background. Send me the serial number along with your results via PM so I can help you troubleshoot.
I own a Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed mouse and I have been experiencing this exact same issue. I have uninstalled/reinstalled all Razer software to include registry removal.Updated all device drivers (so far as to check Razer site) and the issue recurs. I tested the mouse and dongle on 2 other computers and the problem persists with the mouse. At any time I will experience a double-click, triple-click, no-click, or click-and-release. Never before with any other brand of mouse have I experienced this problem.

This mouse is used for both work and pleasure. While programming an erroneous triple-click can easily wipe out an entire line of code. And when this mouse acts up, like the Basilisk, I am tempted to turn this mouse into a myth.

Redditors have weighed in on this issue.

After blowing and trying to wedge thin plastic to displace any dust or static charge, the problem has been reduced but still exists.

This will be my 3rd mouse from Razer within the past 18 months of typical use, all failing due to clicking or not clicking. I have 2 (two) Razer Basilisk (USB) mice that have failed less than a year after purchase. Both left and right mouse buttons will not hold and at any time, release even for a fraction of a second. You know, when playing a FPS game and for some reason you stop shooting or stop aiming down the sights (RMB)? Yeah that. I even accidentally broke a 300 dollar monitor because I was so frustrated I picked up the mouse only to have it whiplash out of my hand, because it was connected via USB, and hit the monitor on its way back to the desk, breaking the monitor. Also, the most recent corded mouse thumb grip pad started peeling off only after a couple of months. I am seriously starting to doubt the quality and reputation of Razer products. Walmart and a Logitech or Corsair mouse is only about 20 minutes away.

@Blasphemy09 I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Razer mice. I'm sure you've gone through all possible troubleshooting at this point, but the best I can offer would be a replacement for what you are currently using. PM me the serial number of your Basilisk X Hyperspeed so I can do just that.
