My Razer Blackshark V2 Hyperspeed disconnect a lot (not wireless)

Hello, first of all, I use my headset via wired USB (so not using the dongle) and not wirelessly (to preserve the battery).

Sometimes when I'm in a game (sometimes on YouTube), it's pretty random, but it says "Power Off" in my headset and then it disconnects.

Sometimes it reconnects, and it says "Power On," but sometimes it doesn't reconnect and I have to plug and unplug. Recently it did some weird noises/sizzling.

It's SUPER annoying because it causes lag in games, and also when I'm streaming, it's annoying because it lags and I have to reconnect to apps. I don't think I need to draw you a picture.

Do you know how to fix this? It's super annoying, and I'm going to return the headset within a week if it doesn't get resolved (I'll be disappointed because the rest is good).

Hey @ChoKoSenpai,

Been around long enough to know how rage-inducing these issues can get — especially mid-stream. First off: you're not crazy. The symptoms you're describing aren't uncommon with certain batches of the BlackShark V2 Hyperspeed, especially when running wired-only mode via USB-C.

A couple of things i would recommend trying:

1.Cable swap test, Sounds obvious, but the stock Razer cables have been known to degrade over time or ship semi-faulty. Try another high-quality USB-C cable if possible.

2.USB port behavior, Avoid USB hubs or front panel ports. Plug directly into a motherboard USB 3.0/3.1 port (blue or teal ports usually). Windows might underpower front ports under load especially when playing chunky games + streaming.

3. Razer Synapse checkup – Sounds obvious but make sure you're running the latest version of Synapse and that the firmware for the headset is up to date. i know a guy who fixed power dropouts after the firmware patch.

4.Power Management Settings – Go to: Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers > Right-click your USB Root Hub > Properties > Power Management. Then Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.” Do this for every USB Root Hub you find.

5.As you mentionned it, it could be caused by an interference or poor shielding in the wire or jack. If you hear it again even with another cable, I’d seriously consider requesting a replacement before your return window closes.

Hi @easyZompAPATITE884  !
I'll respond to your answer in several points, but first, thank you!

First of all. I have no problems when it's wireless/with the dongle.

1) I just bought the headset 2 weeks ago. The cable shouldn't be damaged. I'll still see about trying another cable.

2) I have a laptop, so I use a USB 3.0 multiport adapter. (i can’t do without this)
Would trying to buy a new one soon, with 3.1 or 3.2, maybe work? (I only have 2 USB ports, so for keyboard, mouse, headset, and controller, I have to have a USB multiport adapter.)

3) On Razer Synapse, it says no update is required... the firmware? Which one is it?

4) I did it, but in fact:
My headset is connected wired to a USB adapter/multiport, where my controller and keyboard are also connected. If that were the problem, I would have already had problems with disconnected keyboards or controllers, but I've never had this.

5) I will try this!

Could you answer me with the new information (and questions) that I gave you?
Thank you very much for your time!
