My Razer Nari Essential's audio keeps peaking and it hurts my ears

It is exactly what the title says. In certain voices my audio will keep peaking and it makes a high pitch noise. It does this with thx on and off. I have tried switching around the usb ports and nothing works. I have messed around with the eq and it happens on all the presets and my custom one. Someone please help. FYI bought this renewed on amazon so tell me if i got a defective product and if i should try to get a refund
