Naga V2 Pro Scroll Wheel Tension Issue

Hello, I just purchased a Naga V2 Pro and I’m having some issues with the scroll wheel tension. No matter what setting I use for the Scrolling options, it feels like it’s on max tension intermittently. I like the scroll wheel to move freely with little resistance, similar to every other mouse I’ve owned. My other mouse is a wired Naga Trinity. I’ve even played with the Custom settings. The wheel may move easily at times, but then there’s always a point where it feels like the tension is raised. I hope there is a fix or something I’m missing because I’m about to return this mouse. Thank you in advance for any help.

Apparently the scroll wheel feels this way even when turned off. So, it’s not a software issue or a problem with the settings. If I spin it in either direction there is a point where it feels like it’s getting bound up or being held. You can even hear it. I’m not sure if this is supposed to be this way or it’s just a faulty scroll wheel. I can spin the wheel on my Naga Trinity, plugged in or not in either direction for as long as I want and it spins freely.

I have the same problem, no matter what profile I am on, the tension required to scroll varies a lot. It can go from too heavy,  to almost no resistance in the course of a few minutes, and anything in between.

Finally a reply! After a few weeks of use the scroll wheel did loosen up a bit but not much. For my scroll settings, I settled on Scroll Tension = 32 and Scroll Steps = 96. I found these settings keep the wheel as loose as possible but still leave enough tension that I could faintly feel the clicks as it spun, but also allowed for it to still spin without binding so much when it wants to tighten. It definitely doesn’t feel like the scroll wheel from my Naga Trinity, but I’ve gotten use to it. If I tried to mimic the feel of the Trinity, when it tightens up it would become very difficult to spin and would even result in me accidentally clicking the scroll wheel button because I would have to use so much force to try and spin the wheel. It’s a nice mouse, but a shame to have this issue considering the cost of the mouse and what you’d expect from a Razer product.

I just started using this mouse an hour ago since posting this and I am having the exact same feeling. It feels like the scroll wheel has a small area in its rotation where it kind of “rubs” with some internal parts, no matter the preset or custom configuration I use.

Simply put, a single full wheel scroll feels inconsistent. Instead of feeling constantly smooth or rough the whole way, it seems it has different levels of resistance depending on the position of the wheel. It feels extremely awkward to me.

Hey jutsr1-CerN-, and LarsGontiel. If the issue happens even when the Synapse 3 is disabled, and the device is connected to another USB port or PC, then the issue could be potentially its hardware. I recommend submitting a case through this link so our Support Team can start an investigation. Thanks everyone for your cooperation.

@Razer.Speedcr0ss Thank you for the reply. I have submitted a case.

Hello again

I just returned mine and got a new one from Amazon. This one doesn’t have this issue, so it was definitely a production defect^^

I completed the RMA process and my new mouse arrived today. I’m happy to say that the new mouse does not have any issue with the scroll wheel. I now have to send the original back for testing before Razer will refund the cost.

A couple of things to note. From the box of the 2 mice. The one I bought at Best Buy was a 2022 version as noted in fine print on the bottom of the box and the new mouse was a 2023. The only obvious difference in the packaging was on the top left of the front of the box. The 2022 version only has the Razer Chroma RGB symbol, whereas the 2023 version has the Bluetooth and 2.4GHz symbols underneath the Razer Chroma RGB symbol in the same area.

So, if anyone is looking to purchase a Naga V2 PRO mouse, you may want to avoid the 2022 version.

Razer has received my defective mouse, inspected it and refunded the cost of the replacement. The entire process is now complete. The replacement mouse is working just fine and I am pleased with how the process worked out. Thank you all for the replies and help sorting this out.
