Need synapse software for mac os 10.15 | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I upgraded to mac os 10.15 catalina and now the software...

Razer Synapse 2.0 (MAC OSX 10.10-10.14) - Release Date: 25 Sep 2018

Does not work and I dont see anything else available for mac os

does this mean there is no software support for catalina and big sur?

i now cant use my tarturus v2 and naga trinity mouse..

why has there been no update since sept 2018???

this is beyond fail
I have new Razer Kraken Tournament Edition Headsets and it's impossible to make them work on Mac OS 10.15.

Looks like Razer doesn't care about Mac Users
its a known fact now, there is no actual support for MAC os

you can buy the products, and the products state mac os compatible

and there are drivers that you can downlaod, synapse v2 which was rls back in 2018

it may work, but dilema you may not be able to install it since catalina and upward went 64bit

so you'll need to downgrade to mojave to install the synapse 2.0 drivers, software, than upgrade to catalina or dont upgrade.

problem is synapse 2.0 is buggy has unstable and has problems and i've been tying to get support for over a year now, i have posted on these forums many times. sent emails about the issue.

ignored I am

so reality is this, if you own a mac, dont buy anything from razor, and warn all your friends because a vast majority of their items, even brand new in the stores will require synapse 2.0, so its not worth buy it for a mac.

basically, razor products work only on windows with updated drivers and software, mac os is no longer updated or supported.

sadly razor won't disclose this upfront which is very deceitful of them. when selling their products....there needs to be an up front disclaimer stating mac os support is GONE.

why they won't state this on their packaging and products is very shameful. even on their own website they won't warn you and still advertise and clearly state there are mac os drivers....which are old and no longer compatible nor updated!!!

simple answer....dont buy razor products for use with mac os
Is there even a way to submit a support request? Trying to follow the links is just an endless circle.

In case support reads the forums, the issues with Synapse 2.0 (v 1.88.20) and macOS Catalina (10.15.7):

  • Connected devices do not show

  • The "SUBMIT FEEDBACK" button doesn't work

  • It prompts to enable Razer software in Security & Privacy, but Razer Software never shows in Preferences.

Why wouldn't they just fix it... Do they not realize how many of their users are Mac users???
Just got an ornate v2 today without knowing it wouldn't be compatible on the Mac. Wish I had known. When I called their customer support, the representative said they had no plans to update for Mac...
unofficially they dont support mac os

despite customer support stating this, they won't update their website and products that clearly state mac os compatible.

so i'm hoping someone slams a class action lawsuit on them

its deceitful to claim mac os compatible on their products and not offer updated drivers nor provide technical support for them despite selling them and marking them as mac os ready when in actual fact its an out right lie.

the best thing you can do is spread the word in social media.

on facebook and instagram i have near 4k followers, whenever i see an advertisement for Razer products, i leave a warning that there is no mac os driver support

any links you find on their website will also loop and fail and just waste your time as they have not bothered to remove or update the mac os links either, shameful
So stupid. I bought it today solely because it said Mac OS compatible. Wish I would've known, would've happily gotten the corsair for half the price...

heads up

the corsair mouse drivers also have issues. the mouse mapped buttons will disconnect. which is similar issue for the razer drivers.

in fact its a common issue across the board, happens for corsair, logitech, razer.

so dont expect the drivers to be fully 64bit compatible for catalina or big sur.

they may work better on mojave but still crash once in a while.

mouse wise, the only reliable ones are the ones that don't require a driver. some mice have hard wired buttons to them. MAC os has a poor choice when it comes to mouse and game pad peripherals, and keyboards also as most have LEDs now plus mapped keys which won't have much support due to limited driver support.

i'm not sure who is at fault, if its apple or the makers of the product. but its a very common problem, all big brand names seem to not give a damn about mac os.

look at logitech, a big name is computer accesories, been around many years and their mac os support is non existent also. i bought an mmo mouse G600, which claims to have mac os support but the drivers are from 2018 and simply dont really offer support but do same exact thing as Razer, they claim mac os compatible but in fact, it is NOT due to no updated drivers

So corsair is exactly the same, I know because I bought their MMO mouse which states mac os compatible and to a certain extent it is, but the drivers suck and they dont update them and have exact same issues as the logitech and razer drivers.

so don't expect corsair to offer or be the solution cuz I had same exact head ache.

in the end I went with a Razer naga trinity, which works but same dilemma, there are no updated drivers. I'm using the ones they released for Mojave, there is no catalina driver.

so if u already have catalina, the drivers wont install.

u must downgrade to mojave, install drivers than update to ctalina and you'll get a warning message that the drivers are not 64bit but some how they kinda work

meaning it loads the mapping for the mouse but the software wont run anymore, since its not really 64bit

so whatever keybinds I made to my mouse in mojave are now permanent in catalina as i cannot remap or change the bindings on the mouse as the software won't work but the driver still loads

every so often the mouse looses its bindings, simple fix.....unplug the usb cord and re-insert it and it redetects the mouse, and all the buttons remap properly. while playing wow. this can happen once or twice during a raid or it can happen multiple times on an hour or two.

needless to say, when you are tanking or have an important role and you mouse fails to register your buttons presses...i have to quickly...."oh shit, mouse not working".....unplug and reinsert the mouse usb cord...wait for about 2s for it to redetect and than i'm good to go.

sometimes this happens after a few minutes again..

i am saving money to buy a windows computer...i can't live like this...i hate windows 10, loathe it but on windows the drivers are rock solid and updated frequently and the issues i have on mac os are non existent on windows 10
