No Fan Control on Battery

I could have sworn I used to be able to make changes to the fan curve on last year's razer blade 15 model. However, with the mid 2019 razer blade 15, I only have the option to change fan for balanced and it only allows changes to the slider when plugged in. Am I missing something or is this an intended change going forward? It feels like the the newer version of the controls under performance in Synapse 3 are a step back from the prior year's version.
