No HDMI port on Razer Blade Stealth

I am trying to connect my Razer Blade stealth to my TV mainly to run my work program and use my TV as a bigger Monitor. However, i have purchased a male to female USB to HDMI port for the laptop in order to be able to connect my TV as a monitor. My TV is not a Smart TV so it does not have the ability to do a wireless connection. I did try the wireless connection with my roommate's TV and it obviously worked with a smart TV. My dilemma is, 1, this TV is not mine, i cannot use it all the time. 2, there is a lag when using the mouse. 3, now i have a freakin USB to HDMI port that doesn't work. now i have a USB-C to HDMI cable coming. is this going to work, or is the only way to connect my laptop to a monitor/TV have to be with a wireless connection... I cannot find the answer to this anywhere.
