Nothing works

I bought the kraken x and hooked them up to the front of my PC. They didn't work then I realized I could hook them up to the back and they started working but recently my sister un plugged them from the secondary cord and when I plug them back in the mic wont pick up sound. All it does is play a very light static if the volume is at 100%. I've restarted my PC, I've scanned for drivers to update, uninstalled the drivers plugged the mic back into the front then into the back again and nothing works. My final effort is to try Razer synapse but it doesn't detect my headphones and so I cant troubleshoot it from there. The headphones work fine on other devices its just the mic on this PC.
