Parasitic oscillation ? | Razer Insider

Hi,

I have a Razer Blade 2018 Advanced GTX 1060 - bought recently.

When I am opening new tabs in Chrome or other windows I hear a very short sound coming from inside the laptop.

I found someone had a similar problem with their Asus: https://superuser.com/questions/960644/why-does-my-ssd-only-laptop-make-a-scatchy-sound-when-i-open-a-new-chrome-tab

I remember I had this kind of problem with my old laptop shortly before my HDD died. After replacing the drive the sound was gone.

My Razer has only SSD thought.

Is it normal with Razer laptops? Is there anything I can do to get rid of the sound?

Apart of that the only problem I have are very loud fans after opening Razer Synapse, even after closing it and not using the laptop the fans are working like crazy (and the laptop is cold). After a restart and when only using the laptop for no demanding task (as browsing) I can't hear the fans at all.

I'm mentioning it because maybe the two issues are somehow connected.

Thank you

There shouldn't be any scratching sound especially for laptops with SSDs. Can you pinpoint where the sound is coming from and can you put up an audio representation if not an actual recording of the sound?

As for the fan profiles, try reinstalling Synapse then use a newly registered account then set up the fan curve. Let me know if you notice any improvements.
