PBT Keycaps - black marks causing uneven lighting

About 50% of my PBT keycaps have black manufacturing marks on the underside. It looks like a felt tip pen mark. These marks prevent the light shining through evenly, and as a result many of the legends have uneven brightness. In some cases, half of an entire letter is not illuminated. Please advise if this is normal, or if I have a faulty set?

    Uneven lighting is not normal, but can you help me help you? Please put up photos or a short clip showing the issue so we can get a better understanding of your situation. By the way, are you referring to a 3rd party keycap set?
