Pro Type Ultra - Calculator Shortcut chattering when Synapse is Running

Ghizmo63

When Synapse is running, if i press the dedicated Windows Calculator button (Fn+F9), it will open 2 or 3 instances of Calc.
Without Synapse running, it actually works perfectly fine, opening only 1 instance of Calc.

I checked for dust and others, and checked with “anti chattering” software if the switch was broken, but no chatter at all.

I’m 99% sure it come from Synapse, but i can’t configure any dedicated shortcut.
Is there a turn around or can i expect a fix in future update ?

Thank you !

I’m experiencing the same thing. It’s not a mechanical issue as the key doesn’t chatter. It must be due to Synapse.

Think no one care -- nice support for a brand like Razer

How the app is bound to the key?

Windows shortcuts → Launch calculator?

or

Launch Program → C:\Windows\System32\calc.exe

If the 1st method, try the 2nd if you haven’t tried it yet.

This is the default 2nd function for the F9 key. There is no way to remap it in Synapse.

I’d try to bind it to some other key to check if it’ll behave in the same way as the default one.

Also you can try doing clean Synapse reinstall if you haven’t tired it yet:

  1. Uninstall Synapse
  2. Download & run this tool: https://rzr.to/Tf53xj to remove any razer drivers/leftovers
  3. Then restart your PC
  4. After reboot install Synapse again (as administrator).

If the Windows shortcut is bind to an other key , it works.

Seems the default one call windows AND Synapse to do the job.

Already tried to clean re install Synapse and it’s not working.

If I bind another key with either method you mentioned earlier, it works properly as expected. It’s only the default f9 calculator key that behaves strange. One thing I notice is that without the calculator open already, pressing the f9 key opens just 1 instance. But after that, each key press opens 2 instances.

For me it’s always 2

I can only recommend updating keyboard firmware if it’s older than 1.03: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6217

But for me it looks like some strange bug in Synapse, so you can only contact support directly and submit a ticket: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/warranty-support/ - also @Razer.Zionzedd - could you help with this thing?:)

So do i, but i have to repeat all we said here.

And now they ask me to provide us a video of the issue.

I will film myself pressing F9 ??? What the point ?

I told them to read this thread to understand, but they will never do it, he ask me for stupid things instead.

All you had to do Razer, is to admit your software is massive crap, take my report and update you stupid soft.

I’m working too, can’t take a journey to troobleshoot a keyboard

Just to let you know, my ticket with Razer US Support is in progress

Many troubleshot were done, from updating firmware to checking all my pc component to clean re install everything

I had the Razer Technical Support on the case, then Razer Escalations Team and now we’re all waiting for an answer from Razer Internal Team. I had all of them on live chat too.

Issue still here. At this point it can only be solved by an update of Synapse or a configuration of Windows i’m unable to do cause i don’t have the technical level.

We’ll see !!

My ticket has gone through to an RMA. I’m in Australia so it would be a different support team.

Final answer :

“Hi,

Thank you for patiently waiting while we investigated your reported issue. We wanted to let you know that we have managed to identify the cause of the issue that you have reported.Due to the complexity and the work that needs to be done, we are unable to provide an estimate of when you can expect a fix. However, once a fix has been identified, this will be released in a future software update. For now, your case will be closed while we work on building the fix.

Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,

Irish
Razer L2 Support”

RMA will probably not help you at all unless you plan to buy another hardware

Just wait & see now

You're probably right. But it was Razer that offered an RMA, so why not take it 😆. At least it seems they know the software issue so hopefully the fix gets pushed asap.
