Problems with Razer Goliathus Chroma

I've been using the Goliathus Chroma for over a year and while I'm quite happy with the mat, there have been a few problems. The mat has been lying in the same place and not being moved, and over time the first and most noticeable problem is that the sides are slowly burning out, resulting in the edges not lighting up as well which completely destroys the chroma effect. The chroma lighting on the top, right side and lower right half of the mat is about half as bright as the left and lower left side of the mat. How can I deal with this problem?
